The band under the leadership of Mr. Alexander Dasko was formed in 1992 and their name is derived from the bandleader, thus Cymbal music of Alexander Dasko. In 2004 the name changed to Gypsy music of Alexander Dasko and the bandleader besides being the first violinist became the artistic director and manager of this extraordinary ensemble.
Very vide repertoire includes all musical genre such as: opera, operetta, swing, evergreens, country, pop, jazz, world famous concert pieces so called virtuoso performances. Gypsy music sooths and offers unforgettable experience for everybody because it includes many well known folk songs of different countries of the world. Quality of their music, professionalism, originality and temperament was appreciated by audiences in many countries of Europe, specifically Belgium, Czech republic (during the Prague Summit of NATO in 2002), Germany, Spain (EXPO 1992), Portugal (EXPO 1998), Austria, Slovenia (Gold drummer festival) and Switzerland. Awards, appreciation and the highest accolades in media and many standing ovations are very much appreciated by the band members especially in the Gypsy fire project. It is all well deserved. Among the hosts are very famous artists who belong to the top in show business.
Bandleader Alexander Dasko is capable to elude through the strings of his violin unbelievable sounds. It is all because he puts into his music his heart, sparks and fiery temperament. To listen just to him gives goose bumps. Thousands of carried away concert listeners are the living proof of his virtuosity. So are his CD’s where you can be the judge for yourself. Besides concerts, Gypsy music of Alexander Dasko is doing many benefit concerts and foundation Smile as a gift gave them award as the sign of appreciation for this work. Bandleader Mr. Alexander Dasko is the founder of Private Art School in Banska Bystrica where gifted children coming from underprivileged families can further their talents.
